Ata Damasco born in 'Oma'oma'o, Wailuku, Maui on February 6, to Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence and Gwendolyn Damasco. Ata was raised by his maternal grandparents-Reverend Alfred Chu Hing and Julia Kealoha Chu Hing. They took Ata literally at birth to Ni'ihau, The Forbidden Isle. This is where Ata's fluent and first language had originated from up until he was eight years old. He started singing at six and playing and tuning the Ukulele at seven in his grandfather's church on Ni'ihau.
